Josephine and Ina
Josephine and Ina are originally from Sierra Leone. They now live in Orpington, South East London. I met them on a Sunday morning when they were just on their way home from church.
Of the two women, Josephine was the most chatty. She told me that when she first came to Britain she was housed in a small village in Cornwall. I said that it must have been strange coming from West Africa to Cornwall. She told me that she loved the place and that the locals were very friendly and welcoming. She had her daughter in Cornwall and and it was there that she discovered a love of Cornish Pasties. She told me that she has since perfected the art of making them herself and makes ‘The finest Cornish Pasty in South London’. I believe her.
