malcolm

I saw this guy hanging around Soho and took a couple of candid shots of him. His slightly shifty look made an interesting shot. I got chatting to him. His name was Malcolm, and he was a retired postman from Tooting in SW London. He lives alone and every week comes up to the West End to see a play or a film. He loves the stage and is a real film buff. On this day he was in Soho to see a re-run of ‘Cinema Paradiso’ which he informed me, ‘Is one of his favourite films and a masterpiece.’ Malcolm was a charming and very articulate bloke and was clearly a real culture vulture. I felt a bit guilty about my shot of him looking furtive, so asked him if I could take another. This was the only pose that Malcolm seemed to want to do though
