Martin and Ruth
Martin is a doctor, and Ruth is a nurse. They met 35-years ago over a catheter trolley at Southampton Hospital. At the time, Martin was a 1st-year Houseman, and Ruth was a 3rd-year Student Nurse.
Their three kids have left home, so the couple now has more time to pursue their love of history. Particularly beach-combing and mud-larking. They look at old maps for Victorian rubbish dumps and dig for bottles and ceramics. Nothing they find is particularly valuable, but they both love the idea of digging bits of history from out of the ground.
